Welcome to
the new website for Pam Curtis & Up The Creek!
*** Update 4/5/2012***
THE END OF
A GREAT DECADE AND THE BEGINNING OF ANOTHER!
John and Pam
Curtis started the bluegrass band, “UP THE CREEK”,
in 2002. They had great success and were a popular band in South
Florida for many years. John’s untimely death in 2006 brought
an end to that chapter of “Up THE CREEK”.
Ed and Chris Wybranowski joined Pam in 2008 and a new “UP
THE CREEK” was born in North/Central Florida. Pam, Ed and
Chris blended their voices in a beautiful three part harmony that
many have enjoyed.
This incarnation of “UP THE CREEK” is now coming to
an end. Ed has decided to stop touring and pursue travel and other
interests. Chris has a new job that is taking a great deal of
her time. The expense of travel has also played a big part, making
many of our favorite venues too costly to visit.
We would like to thank all our friends and fans for supporting
us over the years. We will all continue to play music and will
get together to pick and sing whenever possible but we will not
be touring for the remainder of 2012 or the 2013 season. Pam and
Lance will continue working on new music and “UP THE CREEK”
will be back in some new form at some later date. Who knows what
the next decade will bring.
*****
We are pleased
you have visited the site of "Pam Curtis & Up The Creek".
The HIGH ENERGY sounds of this talented bluegrass band is the
result of years of performances combined with a passion for Bluegrass.
The musicians offer traditional Bluegrass music filled with heart
pounding instrumentals and beautifully blended vocal harmonies.
The band was originally formed in 2002 by Pam and John Curtis.
John passed away in 2006 and Pam moved from Fort Myers to North
Florida in the hopes of some day reforming the band.
During the
summer of 2008 after several chance encounters at local Bluegrass
events and festivals, Pam met Lance Ohl and the father and daughter
team of Ed and Chris Wybranowski. It was obvious to each member
from the start that this was the beginning of a very special and
exciting sound.
"Up the
Creek" supports local Bluegrass organizations and has recently
performed for the North Florida Bluegrass Association and at the
Southwest Florida Bluegrass Association. "Pam Curtis &
Up the Creek" is dedicated to the preservation of Bluegrass
Music and would love to fill your entertainment needs.
